The rules behind the answers

Birth year decides it, not your birthday. Everyone born in the same year is in the same categories all season.
Two windows. Cadet and Junior birth years shift partway through the season.
Window 1: Through the February 2027 NAC (Oct & Nov 2026 NACs, Jan 2027 SJCC, 2027 Junior Olympics, Feb 2027 NAC, and local events in that window).
Window 2: After the February 2027 NAC (March, April & May 2027 events, 2027 National Championships, July Challenge and their qualifiers).
Every other category stays the same all season.
Points list exception. A fencer listed in a national age-group point standing (as of the entry deadline) may enter the next older age category, even if too young for it.
Ratings gate the open divisions. Division I needs a C or higher; Division II is C and below; Division III is D and below. Division I-A has no rating limit.
You need a competitive USA Fencing membership in good standing to enter any of these.
